Not sure if this constitutes breaking copyrights

My question becomes, Can I name my iPhone application something different - maybe "Housing calculator" but the calculations are the same as this company's and in my Description of my app, I refer the theory of this calculations to this company. Would that still constitute breaking the copyrights law?
