Teachers recording themselves reading a text all students purchase

Hello,
In this tough time of distance learning, our school (an accredited, non-profit educational - K-12- institution) is trying to find creative ways to help students learn. If the school has purchased individual copies of textbooks or novels for each student (and a teacher copy, of course), is it permissible for the teacher to create an audio recording of herself reading a passage?
This is similar to what would happen in a single class session, and is relevant to teaching objectives. Also, the audio recording would be available through Google classroom only to students enrolled in the class. I believe it can be prevented from being downloaded, but I have to figure out how to enable that.
I appreciate any and all help you can give!
