Wondering about violating copyright with my project

Hello,
I am a graphic designer and I am involved with an art project where I am creating my vision of our world through my eyes by interpretating various characters. I started wondering of the legallity issues along the way before I publish my work.
If I create a SpiderBit, Master Yobit or any similar characters through my own art - so they may resemble some fictive characters from TV or real life - is that considered a copyright violation? Characters are not 100% like what they are portrayed in the movies/tv shows or in real life - but pixelated version of how I perceive them.
I tried browsing through some forums, searching on Google but could not find any clear info on it.
This is the notice that would be included on my website: "This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental."
Thank you!!
