  I am working on a project compiling Catholic prayers in a book format. The book is not for resale more of a collection to have them all in one place. I am trying to determine if prayers can be copyrighted and coming accross conflicting information. It seems to me if prayers have been in circulation for hundreds of years they would be in the public domain. How would I go about determining if a prayer is copyrighted? Please help!
