  We will be having a chalk art program at my library, called Chalk the Walk. A chalk artist has offered to come and make some chalk art, which would include some book characters. While the art will be washed or rained away relatively quickly, I'm wondering about copyright if someone posts images on social media. We are thinking of characters like Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie, or Pilkey's Dog Man. I'm having trouble interpreting copyright law in this situation. Any help would be appreciated!
