Educational use of "Letter from Birmingham Jail"

  • We would like to use Dr. Martin Luther King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" as an all-reads document for incoming students and their faculty - total of about 300 copies. It is an educational use, we are not charging or profiting from it. The "Letter" has been reproduced in many journals and anthologies, so it is readily available to individuals. But Dr. King's Estate manages copyright of all of his intellectual property. Is it respectful and expected that we ask the Estate for permission to make copies, or is this fair use? Thanks
