  We are thinking about podcasting children's stories and wondering how to make getting copyright for newer stories more easily available. We're also thinking that other libraries would be interested in doing the same thing. How would we go about getting copyright permission for public and school libraries in Colorado and making it easier for all of us? Does each library need to get permission and from whom?

  I am not aware at this time of any kind of umbrella licensing for this type of thing. If someone else it, please chime in. This would mean each library contacting each publisher for each book to get permission. If you have several books from one publisher, they would probably do a 'group' license--if they even give permission. If any type of audiobook is available, they probably would not.
