blurbs for catalog records

If we can't get a summary off an item itself or a publisher description from Library of Congress or another catalog, we've been using some descriptions from Amazon or Barnes and Noble online. I am wondering if this is okay--sometimes we change the descriptions slightly to make them less subjective, but we credit the site we got them from.
Thanks,

I think you'd be safest going to the publisher's own description of the item on their own website. Using the customer reviews would definitely NOT be a safe thing to do!
