need to find a copyright training module for faculty to do online

  • At our University the library is trying to educate our faculty about copyright. At the request of the Library's Dean, I am looking for an online copyright training module that each faculty member would be required to take at their convenience. The ideal module would be geared to higher education faculty, impartial, interactive, and reasonably priced. At this point I would welcome any suggestions that you might have. Thanks.

  • Merlot lists a number of units on intellectual property and plagiarism -- a start, but maybe not exactly what you're looking for. http://www.merlot.org/merlot/materials.htm?category=250463. As far as I can tell, Merlot units are free. And it looks like there is some mechanism for assigning them to a group to be read.
  • Georgia Harper's "Crash Course in Copyright" is an excellent resource that is directed toward faculty. It is online and available without charge at http://copyright.lib.utexas.edu/.
