Can item covers be used in marketing campagin?

  We are rebranding our library and want to use cover images (DVDs, CDs, books, etc) as part of our marketing campaign to show the diversity of what we offer.
  
  If we own the title, can we use the image? If yes, does the image need to be of one of our library copies (complete with barcode) or can it be clean image?
