Patron Copying Online Material in Library

However, you may consider yourself to have a strong ethical responsibility to use the moment to teach about proper attribution of sources versus plagiarism, and to educate the student that it is ever so easy for a teacher to track down cut-and-paste plagiarism. If the student properly attributes the source in his or her assignment, there is absolutely nothing wrong with copying and pasting the original, and in fact it reduces the possibility of typos and other transcription errors.
(and speaking as an editor, anything that reduces the possibility of transcription errors is a Good Thing!)
